I’m Sokol Binakaj, a registered architect and dedicated project manager with over a decade of experience managing projects from concept to completion. Born in Kosovo, I grew up in a community that instilled in me resilience and creativity. In 2006, my family and I migrated to New York City, where I embraced the challenges of learning a new language and adapting to a dynamic, fast-paced culture.

Driven by my passion for architecture and design, I relocated to Colorado to further my education, earning a B.S. in Architecture and Planning from the University of Colorado Denver. During my time there, I contributed to the community through initiatives like InWorks, where I collaborated on designing and creating prototypes using 3D printers, laser cutters, and CNC machines. As part of a university program, I traveled to Nicaragua to help build a pre-K school for the local community in Chusli, an experience that deepened my commitment to using architecture as a tool for positive impact.

Professionally, I’ve led and collaborated on a wide range of projects, including multimillion-dollar landmark renovations, adaptive reuse developments, and custom residential designs. My role as Project Manager at Matthew Cordone Architect PLLC included leading million dollar alterations in New York’s Chelsea District, Fifth Avenue and Carrol Gardens BLYN managing intricate zoning and historic preservation projects. After working at MCAPLLC, Building on that experience, I launched my own practice—Shtëpia Architecture—a boutique firm rooted in design excellence, cultural sensitivity, and technical rigor. The firm specializes in providing comprehensive architectural services, both locally and globally, with an emphasis on creative collaboration, thoughtful design, and high-quality project delivery. At Shtëpia, I lead a team focused on blending traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology, offering clients an elevated, detail-oriented approach to architectural design.

My expertise spans client relations, budget management, compliance, and sustainable design solutions, with a strong proficiency in industry-leading tools like AutoCAD, Revit, and Adobe Suite. I am also a tech enthusiast, integrating emerging technologies such as AI, VR, and 3D printing into architectural processes.
